Bjoern has a master’s degree in International Business and a German diploma in Industrial Engineering. He is working in the field of consultancy by supporting his global customers with Obsolescence Management core competencies and tactics already for many years. Bjoern successfully developed, implemented and managed reactive, proactive and strategic obsolescence management within a variety of companies.
Bjoern is the official business partner of the COGD (Component Obsolescence Group Deutschland e.V.), ‘Endorsed Trainer’ of the IIOM (International Institute of Obsolescence Management), German Spokesman for Standards Revisionfor reliability topics of the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), head of working groups at VDI (Association of German Engineers), co-author of VDMA (Mechanical Engineering Industry Association) Standards, partner of the Institute of Process Excellence, co-author of the specialist publication ‘Strategies to the Prediction, Mitigation and Management of Product Obsolescence’.
As a Computer Scientist Oliver Hoffmann has spent his career his both Consulting and Sales roles in innovative companies. Having built a strong curiosity for Digital Business and collected years of experience in Obsolescence Management throughout Europe, he is now leading the EMEA organization at SiliconExpert. Ad is an Obsolescence Manager IIOM Associate Grade at Dutch Railways and Life Cycle Support. He has experience within the automotive (5 years) and train sector (25 years) in various fields; including engineering, quality, reliability, maintainability and availability.
He is also familiar with Obsolescence Management since 2015. He has directed Obsolescence Management at NS which resulted in the Obsolescence Management department at NS, consisting of procurement, engineering and maintenance. He works daily to provide a reliable solution on time at the lowest possible lifecycle cost and to reduce the risk of equipment downtime.
In 2021 he started Life Cycle Support, as a one-man business, working together with AMSYS from Munich, offering support in the field of Life Cycle Management, including OM, which gives him a lot of pleasure, and a nice subject to be involved with on a daily basis.
